Client: YODL

Role: Visual Design, UI/UX, Product Design, Prototyping, Concepting
Tools: Figma
Challenge
As it stands there are a lot of music apps geared towards musicians or fans or venues, but none that fully encompass the fans, the musicians, and the venues together as a community and spans the live music process from artist discovery, to booking, to live interaction. We were tasked with designing and developing a strong partial prototype that can be used to pitch the app to investors to raise funding and get it to market.
Objectives
Help musicians and venues build better fan bases and create stronger income opportunities through efficient booking tools and artist patronage activities.
Create paths for user registrations/logins for each type of user as well as developing a fast user switching function
Add a robust search option for performance availability/bookings and song catalogs
Ability to link social media accounts
Add video & audio playback functionality with page placements
Functionality needed for each user type:
Artists: ability to accept song requests and tips, view current and available bookings, and view venue information/contacts
Fans: ability to connect with artists, make song requests, send artists a tip, and search for event/artist performances
Venue: create a calendar feature where you can view currently booked artists, view future available bookings, view artist requests for bookings, and search artist databases
Optimize for mobile iOS, Android, and desktop environments as well as making it accessible according to WCAG 3.0 standards
Results
Through much UX/UI iteration, we were able to get the prototype done, pitched and funded. The app is now available in all app stores.

Fan Account User Flow: This user flow focuses on the ability to tip the band/request a song, account setup, and user settings.
Artist Account User Flow: This user flow focuses on the onstage “Showmode” experience (accessed by clicking the first show on the Shows landing page), songlist updates, booking requests, account setup, and user settings.
Venue Account User Flow: This user flow focuses on incoming/outgoing booking requests, artist search, artist booking, contacts, account setup, and user settings.
All: These are all the above user flows stitched together.
